Same Wi-Fi Network Setup for TV Remote Apps

AnyTV Controller uses local Wi-Fi discovery. For the app to find your Android TV, Google TV or Chromecast device, your iPhone and TV must be on the same reachable network.

What "Same Wi-Fi" Means

The network name should usually match on both devices. For example, if your iPhone is on Home-5G, your TV should also be on Home-5G, not Home-Guest or a mobile hotspot.

Some routers separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Many homes still allow discovery across both bands, but if scanning fails, put both devices on the exact same network name first.

Settings to Check

  • Turn off VPN while pairing.
  • Do not use guest Wi-Fi.
  • Disable router client isolation or AP isolation if enabled.
  • Keep both devices near the router for the first scan.
  • Restart the router if devices recently changed networks.

Best Setup for Reliable Control

Use a stable home Wi-Fi network, keep your TV firmware updated, and leave the TV connected to Wi-Fi in standby if your model supports network wake. Once pairing succeeds, everyday use is usually faster and more reliable.
